PACT Act: Largest-Ever Expansion of Health Care for 1 Million Veterans
Jul 18, 2024, 03:48 PM
The PACT Act, recently passed by Congress and signed into law by President Biden, represents the largest-ever expansion of veterans' health care. It aims to provide health care and benefits to over 1 million veterans exposed to toxic substances, including burn pits and radiation. Over 500,000 veterans have enrolled since its enactment, with significant numbers in various states, such as nearly 2,000 in Connecticut's 1st district and 2,068 in California's 21st district. Thousands of veterans in SW Ohio are also benefiting. The Act covers veterans from the Vietnam, Gulf War, and post-9/11 eras. House Democrats continue to work on ensuring veterans have access to these critical health care benefits.
