Tommy Robinson Jailed for 18 Months for Contempt Over False Claims Against Syrian Refugee Jamal Hijazi
Oct 28, 2024, 12:36 PM
Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, also known as Tommy Robinson, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison at Woolwich Crown Court after admitting to contempt of court. Robinson breached a 2021 High Court injunction by repeating false allegations against Syrian refugee Jamal Hijazi, including in his film titled 'Silenced'. The injunction prohibited him from repeating libelous claims made against Hijazi, who had successfully sued Robinson for defamation. Robinson will serve half of the sentence, less three days already served.
