Tommy Paul Wins Queen's Club Championships 6-1, 7-6(8), Becomes No. 1 American
Jun 23, 2024, 01:47 PM
Tommy Paul has won the 2024 Queen's Club Championships, defeating Lorenzo Musetti 6-1, 7-6(8) in the final. This victory marks Paul's first ATP 500 title, his first grass-court title, and the biggest title of his career. He becomes the first American to win at Queen's since 2010, when Sam Querrey took the title. With this win, Paul also ascends to the position of the No. 1 American male tennis player, surpassing Taylor Fritz. Musetti reached the final after defeating Jordan Thompson 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in the semi-finals. Paul had earlier defeated fellow American Sebastian Korda 6-4, 7-6(1) to reach the final. This triumph is Paul's third career title.
