Measles Cases Triple in 2024, 188 Cases Reported Across 26 States, No Deaths
Jul 27, 2024, 02:59 AM
Minnesota has reported 15 measles cases this year, all in unvaccinated children, with more than half hospitalized. Nationwide, the number of measles cases recorded so far in 2024 is already more than triple the total from 2023. A total of 188 cases have been reported across 26 states and Washington D.C., with 93 hospitalizations, mostly among children under 5 years old. No deaths have been reported. Experts attribute the rise to declining vaccination rates in the U.S. and an increase in measles cases worldwide.
