He emphasized that hundreds of political prisoners remain in Russia and further swaps are crucial. Kara-Murza also stressed that Vladimir Putin must not be allowed to win the war in Ukraine and predicted that the Putin regime will collapse without warning. He vowed to return to Russia, believing passionately that the country's future as a democratic state and peace in Europe depend on Russia's defeat in Ukraine.
