Twitter's Grok AI Uses User Data, Interactions, and Inputs by Default
Jul 26, 2024, 09:58 AM
Twitter, now rebranded as X, has automatically opted all users into a data-sharing setting that allows the company to use their data, including interactions and inputs, to train its AI model, Grok. This change was implemented without prior announcement and is set by default. Users can disable this setting, but only through the web version of the platform, not the mobile app. The setting can be found under 'Settings,' 'Privacy and Safety,' and 'Grok.' Elon Musk has described Grok as 'the most powerful AI by every metric.' This move has raised concerns about user consent and data privacy. The data is also shared with xAI.
