5-Year-Old Boy Dies After Bounce House Goes 15 to 20 Feet Airborne at Maryland Baseball Game
Aug 4, 2024, 12:00 AM
A tragic incident occurred during a Southern Maryland Blue Crabs baseball game on Friday night, resulting in the death of a 5-year-old boy from La Plata, Maryland. A gust of wind lifted a bounce house 15 to 20 feet in the air, causing it to go airborne and crash onto the field at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf. The boy was flown to Children's National Hospital in Washington, where he was later pronounced dead. Another child was also injured in the incident. The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs canceled their Saturday game in response to the tragedy. Charles County Fire teams responded to the emergency around 9:21 p.m.
