Houthis Down Third American MQ-9 Drone in a Week, Tenth Since October 7th

The Houthis have downed another American MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) over Dhamar province, Yemen. This marks the third MQ-9 shot down by the Yemeni Armed Forces in the past week and the tenth since October 7th. The MQ-9 Reaper, which costs approximately $30-32 million per unit, was conducting reconnaissance operations over Dhamar province. Yemeni Armed Forces spokesperson Yahya Saree confirmed the downing, stating that air defenses used a surface-to-air missile to target the drone, which was conducting hostile operations. The total cost of the downed drones is around $310 million.
