In a series of posts on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump stated that the U.S. feels the ownership and control of Greenland are an absolute necessity. This comes as Trump also mentioned reclaiming the Panama Canal and suggested that Canada could become the 51st U.S. state, offering over 60% tax cuts and military protection as incentives. Greenland's leadership, however, has firmly stated that the territory is not for sale. Trump's comments have been met with criticism from global leaders who view his rhetoric as provocative and unrealistic.
