South Korea Releases Satellite Images Showing 12,000 North Korean Troops Sent to Russia
Oct 18, 2024, 09:57 AM
South Korea's Ministry of Defense and National Intelligence Service (NIS) have reported that North Korea is sending military personnel and weapons to Russia. The NIS released satellite images showing that approximately 12,000 North Korean troops, including special forces forming four combat brigades, have been transported to Russian bases in the Far East aboard Russian military vessels. These troops, who have received Russian military uniforms, arms, and fake Russian IDs, are undergoing training and are expected to be deployed to the front lines. North Korean missile technical officers are also reportedly assisting Russia's use of North Korean missiles in Ukraine. In addition to personnel, North Korea has sent artillery shells, anti-tank rockets, and ballistic missiles to Russia. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol held an emergency security meeting, describing North Korea's actions as a 'grave security threat' to South Korea and the international community.
