Hezbollah Launches First Ballistic Missile at Tel Aviv, Intercepted by Israel
Sep 25, 2024, 05:54 AM
Lebanon's Hezbollah has escalated its conflict with Israel by launching a series of attacks, including a missile targeting Tel Aviv. On September 24, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for launching explosive-laden drones at the Israeli Navy's Atlit base, which houses the Shayetet 13 commando unit. The Israel Defense Force (IDF) reported that two out of three drones were intercepted, causing slight damage and sparking a fire. On September 25, Hezbollah launched a surface-to-surface missile targeting central Israel, specifically aiming at the Mossad headquarters near Tel Aviv. The missile was intercepted by Israel's aerial defense systems, including the David's Sling and Arrow systems. The attack triggered warning sirens across Tel Aviv and other towns. This marks the first time Hezbollah has targeted Tel Aviv with a ballistic missile, significantly escalating tensions between the two sides.
