VisitHezbollah Uses Russian-Made Mirsad-1 UAVs in Attack on Israeli Base South of Haifa
Oct 13, 2024, 06:40 PM
Hezbollah has reportedly used new Russian-made UAVs, including Mirsad-1 UAVs, in an attack on an Israeli base south of Haifa. These UAVs, which are not suicide drones, are capable of carrying three small missiles and have an extended range of 250 kilometers. The Mirsad-1 UAVs can carry up to 40 kilograms of explosives, have a top speed of 370 kilometers per hour, and an operational range of 120 kilometers. The drones are almost undetectable by radars and difficult to intercept, posing a significant threat to Israel’s defenses. Israeli media reports that these fiber-optic drones are primarily employed by Russian forces in Ukraine and have recently arrived in Lebanon under the guise of Russian humanitarian aid. The UAVs managed to breach Israeli air defenses during the attack.
