UN Seeks Access to Kursk, Belgorod, Bryansk for Human Rights Probe
Aug 15, 2024, 09:23 AM
The United Nations Human Rights Office has requested access to several Russian regions, including Kursk, Belgorod, and Bryansk, to investigate allegations of human rights violations by Ukrainian military forces. This request was made in response to cross-border attacks reportedly carried out by Ukrainian forces. Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, expressed hope that the request is not merely a performance. The UN's intention to send a mission was confirmed by Ravina Shamdassani, an official representative of the international organization.
