Bulls Trade All-Defensive Guard Alex Caruso to Thunder for Josh Giddey
Jun 20, 2024, 09:21 PM
The Chicago Bulls have traded two-time All-Defensive guard Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for guard Josh Giddey. Caruso, who is entering the final year of his contract and is eligible for a four-year, approximately $80 million extension beginning July 6, will make $9.89 million this season. His contract becomes fully guaranteed on June 30. Giddey, who has a cap hit of $8.3 million, is also in the final year of his contract and is rookie extension eligible until October 21. The trade did not include any draft picks. Caruso, who started his career with the Oklahoma City Blue, is expected to be a key defensive asset for the Thunder, alongside Lu Dort. This move marks a significant shift for the Bulls, who are looking to go younger by acquiring the 21-year-old Giddey.
