One person was killed and seven others were injured when a Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the main entrance of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on New Year's Day. The incident occurred around 8:40 a.m. on January 1, 2025. The driver of the Cybertruck died in the explosion, which also caused minor injuries to seven bystanders. Reports indicate that the vehicle appeared to be carrying fireworks, gas canisters, and camper fuel before it caught fire and exploded. Authorities, including the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the FBI, are investigating the incident as a possible terrorist act. Sheriff Kevin McMahill provided updates during a news conference.
