Line Fire Intensifies in San Bernardino Forest After 23 Days, Seven Oaks Evacuated
Sep 30, 2024, 12:09 AM
The Line Fire in San Bernardino National Forest has intensified, prompting new evacuation orders. The fire, which started more than three weeks ago in Highland, has been fueled by recent warming and drying conditions despite receiving nearly a half inch of rain last week. The fire is currently moving northwest in the Santa Ana River drainage and has reached the Mile Creek drainage. The community of Seven Oaks is under a mandatory evacuation order, while Angelus Oaks, approximately 10 miles away, is under an evacuation warning. Firefighters are actively working to contain the blaze, with air tankers on order and precautions advised due to smoky air. The fire has been burning for 23 days and the latest flare-up occurred on Sunday afternoon.
