Las Vegas Realtor Brandon Durham Killed by Police After 911 Call; Officer Had Visited Day Before
Nov 23, 2024, 09:59 PM
On November 12, Brandon Durham, a Las Vegas realtor, was fatally shot by a police officer after calling 911 to report a home invasion at his home near Sunset Park. Hiding with his 15-year-old daughter, Durham told the dispatcher that intruders were "shooting at the house" and urgently pleaded, "I don't think I'll be alive by then" and "hurry the [expletive] up." When officers arrived, they kicked in the door and, in the ensuing encounter, shot and killed Durham. Records indicate that the officer who shot Durham had been dispatched to his residence just over 24 hours earlier when Durham reported a trespasser. Community members have since rallied in Las Vegas, calling for justice for Durham.
