Norway to Finance Ukrainian Weapons Production, Following 'Danish Model'
Nov 15, 2024, 11:22 AM
Norway has agreed to finance the production of Ukrainian weapons and equipment, following the 'Danish model' of support. During Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov's visit to Oslo, he secured an agreement with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram for direct financing to accelerate weapons manufacturing and supply for Ukraine's defense forces. This initiative will allow for faster delivery of necessary weapons to the Ukrainian military. Additionally, Norway and Ukraine have signed an agreement to share market intelligence on weaponry and military technology, enhancing collaboration between the two countries in arms procurement. Umerov introduced a new format of cooperation called the 'Norwegian model', which involves investing in Ukrainian defense technology companies.
