NCAA Launches NIL Assist Platform, Health and Academic Benefits for Student-Athletes
Aug 1, 2024, 02:02 PM
The NCAA has launched its NIL Assist platform today, aimed at bringing more transparency to Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals in college sports. The platform includes a NIL Dashboard, which compiles de-identified NIL deals, and a Provider Registry, where athletes can choose from and rate NIL agents and providers. Additionally, the platform offers educational resources related to NIL. The public-facing database will track disclosed data from NIL deals without revealing the names of athletes or schools. The initiative, developed in partnership with Teamworks, seeks to provide athletes with a tool to determine the going rate for similar athletes and to show broad, anonymous data about the flow of NIL money in college sports. The Division I Council had previously adopted new rules requiring athletes to disclose any NIL agreement exceeding $600 to their schools. New health and academic benefits for NCAA student-athletes also take effect today.
