Tyreek Hill Hints at Departure From Miami Dolphins After Playoff Miss, Cites Wrist Injury and Tua's Absence
Jan 6, 2025, 02:10 AM
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill expressed frustration and hinted at a potential departure from the team following their 32-20 loss to the New York Jets, which eliminated the Dolphins from playoff contention and left them with an 8-9 record. Hill, who did not play in the fourth quarter of the game due to a wrist injury, told reporters that he needs to do what's best for his career and family, stating, 'I'm out, bro. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I've got to do what's best for my career.' This season marked the first time Hill missed the playoffs in his nine-year career and his first season with the Dolphins not reaching 1,000 receiving yards, finishing with 959 yards on 81 catches. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel, who was informed that Hill was unavailable before a drive in the second half, responded cautiously to Hill's comments, indicating that further conversations would be necessary. McDaniel and general manager Chris Grier are set to return next season, as announced by Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, who emphasized the importance of stability in leadership. After the game, Hill took to social media to express gratitude to Dolphins fans, writing, 'Love fin nation blessing yall opened doors for the Hill family forever nothing ,but respect and love.' The absence of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who missed games due to a hip injury, was also noted by Hill as a significant factor in the team's performance.
