The Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the establishment of the first all-women battalion of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). This landmark decision aims to empower women and enhance their role in national security. The CISF Headquarters has started preparations for the early recruitment, training, and selection of locations for the headquarters of the new battalion. The all-women battalion, comprising over 1,000 personnel, will be tasked with protecting critical infrastructure such as airports and metro rails, and providing VIP security. Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted that this move aligns with the government's vision of increasing women's participation in nation-building. The battalion will be raised as an elite troop, known as the Mahila Battalion.
