Kenneth Fire Grows to 791 Acres Near Victory Boulevard; Evacuations Ordered in West Hills

A new wildfire, named the Kenneth Fire, erupted near Victory Boulevard in the West Hills area of Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon, rapidly spreading and threatening homes in nearby communities including Woodland Hills, Hidden Hills, Calabasas, and West Hills. The fire has grown to over 791 acres within a few hours, according to Cal Fire, prompting mandatory evacuation orders issued by the Los Angeles Fire Department. Approximately 4,000 people are under evacuation warnings. Evacuation orders cover areas from Vanowen Street south to Burbank Boulevard and County Lane Road east to East Valley Circle Boulevard. The fire is threatening to cross Highway 101, and firefighters and helicopters are working to contain the blaze as it burns through moderate brush. Firefighters are racing to contain the fire as Santa Ana winds are expected to increase up to 50 mph tonight.
