Judge Denies $335 Million UFC Antitrust Settlement, Jury Trial Set for October
Jul 31, 2024, 02:41 PM
A federal judge has denied the preliminary settlement approval in the UFC antitrust case, which involves fighters from 2012-2017. The $335 million settlement was rejected, and the trial for Le v Zuffa is scheduled to begin on October 28, where the case will be determined by a jury. Judge Richard Boulware, who is overseeing the case, has indicated that a much larger settlement and major contractual changes in Johnson v Zuffa would be necessary to satisfy the court. The market reacted quickly to the news, and a status conference is set for August 19.
