Sep 27, 2024, 09:07 PM
The Israeli military, represented by IDF Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, has announced that it will not permit the Beirut airport to be used for smuggling Iranian weapons into Lebanon. Israeli fighter jets are currently patrolling the airspace around Beirut airport to ensure that no planes carrying arms deliveries land there. Hagari emphasized that the airport is intended for civilian purposes and should remain so. The IDF has stated that Lebanon has so far acted responsibly by not allowing the transfer of weapons through the civilian airport. Hagari also mentioned that the IDF will not allow hostile flights and is aware of Iranian weapons transfers to Hezbollah, with IAF planes patrolling the area.
