ICC Prosecutor Seeks Arrest Warrant for Myanmar's Min Aung Hlaing Over Rohingya Persecution

The International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor has filed an application for an arrest warrant before Pre-Trial Chamber I against Min Aung Hlaing, the Acting President of Myanmar and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services. The application alleges his responsibility for the crimes against humanity of deportation and persecution of the Rohingya Muslim minority, committed during the 2017 military operations in Myanmar and in part in Bangladesh. The announcement was made by ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan, who recently visited the Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh.
