FBI Seizes Record 150 Bombs from Virginia's Spafford Who Used Biden Photo for Target Practice
Jan 1, 2025, 06:00 PM
Federal agents have seized over 150 homemade explosive devices from the 20-acre Virginia farm of 36-year-old Brad Spafford, marking the largest cache of such devices in the FBI's history. Spafford was arrested at his property in Smithfield, Isle of Wight County, where agents discovered pipe bombs labeled 'lethal' stored in various locations, including the garage and a freezer alongside food accessible to his two young children. Authorities allege that Spafford used a photo of President Joe Biden for target practice and possessed a backpack adorned with a #NoLivesMatter patch. He reportedly expressed hope that a shooter 'doesn't miss Kamala' Harris. Spafford, who works at a machine shop, had previously lost three fingers while working on an explosive device. The investigation began after neighbors reported suspicious activity, with Spafford allegedly stating he was 'preparing for something' he couldn't accomplish alone. The cache included bomb-making instructions and materials, and the devices were deemed too unstable to transport and were destroyed on-site.
