Sep 6, 2024, 12:30 AM
A judge has set a bond of more than $7 million for a 21-year-old suspect accused of murdering 90-year-old Navy veteran Nelson Beckett in Fort Bend County, Houston. The suspect is alleged to have pistol-whipped, shot, and run over Beckett during a robbery and carjacking. Assistant District Attorney Chandler Raine expressed deep sympathy for the victim's family, stating that there is no reason they should not have their loved one with them today. The judge described the crime as 'atrocious.' The bond was set on Thursday.
