ISRO and ESA Sign Agreement for Axiom-4 Mission and Bharatiya Antariksh Station Collaboration
Dec 21, 2024, 09:27 AM
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the European Space Agency (ESA) have signed an agreement to enhance collaboration in human space exploration. The agreement focuses on astronaut training, mission implementation, and research experiments, with a specific emphasis on the upcoming Axiom-4 mission, which will include both an ISRO astronaut and an ESA astronaut. This partnership aims to facilitate the implementation of experiments proposed by Indian Principal Investigators on the International Space Station (ISS), and extends to ESA's human physiological studies and technology demonstrations. The agreement was signed by ISRO Chairman S Somanath and ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher, marking a significant step in fostering interoperability between different human spaceflight platforms, including the recently approved Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS).
