Arizona Cardinals Extend All-Pro Safety Budda Baker's Contract Through 2027 for $54 Million
Dec 18, 2024, 12:25 AM
The Arizona Cardinals have secured a three-year contract extension with All-Pro safety Budda Baker, valued at $54 million with $30 million guaranteed. The deal, which averages $18 million per year, marks the largest third contract for a safety in NFL history. Negotiated by David Mulugheta of Athletes First, the extension commits Baker, a six-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, to the team through the 2027 season. Since being drafted by the Cardinals in the second round in 2017, Baker has showcased his elite level of play, leading the NFL this season with 88 solo tackles and accumulating 142 combined tackles. This extension follows a period of uncertainty, as Baker had previously requested a trade in the spring of 2023, but he will now have the opportunity to finish his career with the Cardinals.
