Airport Fire in Orange County's Trabuco Canyon Expands to Over 1,300 Acres, Triggers Evacuations

A rapidly spreading wildfire, known as the Airport Fire, has erupted in Trabuco Canyon, Orange County. Initially reported as a 7-acre vegetation fire near Trabuco Creek Road and the remote-controlled airplane airport, it has quickly expanded to over 1,300 acres within three hours. The fire, which grew to 250 acres, then 292 acres, 300 acres, and 800 acres, has prompted mandatory evacuation orders for residents in the affected areas, including Rose Canyon Road, Trabuco Creek Road, Trabuco Canyon Road, Trabuco Oaks Drive, Joplin Loop, and Cook's Corner. Firefighters from the Cleveland National Forest and other agencies are actively battling the blaze, which is moving through thick terrain. Multiple tankers have been called in to assist with containment efforts.
