Tesla Recalls 1.85 Million U.S. Vehicles Over Software Issue Amid Crash Risk

Tesla, Inc. is recalling 1,849,638 vehicles in the United States due to a software issue that may fail to detect an unlatched hood, potentially obstructing the driver's view and increasing the risk of a crash. The recall affects certain 2021-2024 Model 3, Model S, and Model X vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) raised concerns about the hood potentially unlatching, posing a crash risk. Tesla has addressed the NHTSA concern by releasing an over-the-air (OTA) software update to rectify the problem.
