Synthesia, a London-based artificial intelligence startup specializing in AI-generated video avatars for businesses, has secured $180 million in a Series D funding round, valuing the company at $2.1 billion. The round was led by NEA, with participation from new investors such as WiL, Atlassian Ventures, and PSP Growth, alongside existing backers GV and MMC Ventures. The funding brings Synthesia's total raised to $330 million. The Nvidia-backed company, which now serves 60,000 customers and 1 million users, plans to use the new funds to expand its operations, particularly in the Asia Pacific region, and to further develop its AI video platform. Synthesia's technology is utilized by 60,000 enterprises, including 60% of the Fortune 100, to create videos for sales, marketing, and training purposes. The company has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining its headquarters in the UK.
