Trump Names Campaign Manager Susie Wiles as First Female White House Chief of Staff
Nov 7, 2024, 10:59 PM
President-elect Donald Trump has announced the appointment of Susie Wiles as his White House Chief of Staff, marking the first time a woman will hold the influential position. Wiles, a seasoned political strategist and Florida native, served as co-manager of Trump's 2024 presidential campaign, leading it to a sweeping victory over Kamala Harris. She brings over 40 years of experience working with Republicans, having previously worked on the presidential campaigns of Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush and briefly serving as the manager for former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman's 2012 presidential run. Wiles also worked for Jack Kemp in the House and is the daughter of the late NFL player and broadcaster Pat Summerall. Trump praised Wiles as "tough, smart, innovative, and universally admired and respected," stating, "It is a well-deserved honor to have Susie as the first-ever female Chief of Staff in United States history." This appointment is Trump's first major announcement for his new administration, which begins on January 20, 2025.
