VisitFBI: Iranian Hackers Sent Stolen Trump Campaign Data to Biden's Team in June and July
Sep 18, 2024, 11:28 PM
The FBI, along with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), announced that Iranian hackers sent unsolicited emails to individuals associated with President Joe Biden's campaign. These emails contained stolen, non-public material from former President Donald Trump's campaign. The emails were sent in late June and early July 2024. There is no indication that the Biden campaign replied to these emails or used the information. The incident is part of broader efforts by Iran to interfere in the U.S. political system. The stolen information is still being shopped around to media outlets.
