Madhya Pradesh Increases Soybean MSP to ₹4,800 per Quintal, Chouhan Highlights Modi's Farmer Focus
Sep 11, 2024, 05:58 AM
The Madhya Pradesh government has approved a proposal to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for soybean to ₹4,800 per quintal from the previous rate of approximately ₹4,000. This decision comes in response to concerns from farmers who were distressed as soybean prices had fallen below the MSP. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan emphasized that agriculture and farmer welfare are top priorities for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing the service to farmers as akin to worship. The Central government has also given permission to purchase Moong in Madhya Pradesh under the PSS yojana, further demonstrating the administration's farmer-friendly policies. The announcements were made in Bhopal and Delhi.
