Kim Jong Un Oversees Test of AI-Enhanced 'Suicide Drones' by DPRK's Academy of Defense Sciences
Aug 26, 2024, 02:52 AM
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un recently supervised a performance test of new 'suicide drones' developed by the DPRK's Academy of Defense Sciences. The drones, which are designed to crash into targets, were showcased in a demonstration where they successfully struck a target resembling a South Korean tank. State media KCNA reported that Kim Jong Un emphasized the importance of these drones for war readiness and called for their increased production. He also urged the incorporation of artificial intelligence into these unmanned aerial vehicles to enhance their capabilities. The new drones, some of which resemble those used by Russia, are intended for tactical infantry, special operations, and strategic reconnaissance missions, including underwater attacks.
