AT&T Discloses Major Data Breach Affecting 109 Million Mobile Users in 2022
Jul 12, 2024, 10:31 AM
AT&T has disclosed a significant data breach that affected nearly all of its mobile-phone users. Hackers illegally downloaded call and text message records covering a six-month period from May to October 2022 and January 2, 2023. The data breach, which did not include the content of the calls or messages, involved information stored on Snowflake's cloud platform. AT&T plans to notify affected customers about the breach, which is considered one of the largest breaches of private communications data in recent memory. Approximately 109 million customer accounts were impacted in April.
