China Grain Corporation and Sinograin Probed for Using Toxic Tankers for Food Oil

China National Grain and Oils Corporation is under scrutiny after an investigation by The Beijing News revealed that contracted trucks were mixing industrial and food oil without cleaning the tanks. The report highlighted that many tank trucks, after unloading coal-to-liquid products, directly loaded edible oil, posing a risk of contamination by residual chemical liquids. In response, China Grain Reserves Group, the manager and operator of central reserve stocks of grain, oil, and cotton, announced it would conduct an investigation into the claims. Additionally, SinoGrain and Sanhe Hopefull have started their own probes into the use of toxic tankers for transporting liquid edibles. State media has criticized Sinograin for the alleged use of fuel tankers to transport cooking oil, calling it a major scandal.
