Ukrainian Drone Attack Targets Multiple Russian Military Sites, Fires in Voronezh and Rostov
Sep 29, 2024, 09:56 AM
A massive drone attack by Ukrainian forces targeted multiple military sites across Russia on the night of September 28-29, 2024. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 125 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and destroyed over seven regions, including Volgograd, Voronezh, Rostov, and Yeysk. Significant damage was reported, with fires breaking out in several locations, including a residential apartment in Voronezh and the Kotluban ammunition depot in Volgograd Oblast. The Kotluban depot, which stored Iranian ballistic missiles, was reportedly hit, though satellite images later indicated that the fire occurred near but did not affect the arsenal itself. Ukrainian drones also targeted the Yeysk airbase, where Kinzhal ballistic missiles might have been stored, and the Millerovo airfield in Rostov, where significant fires were observed despite claims of all drones being intercepted. Notably, 67 drones targeted Volgograd and 17 drones targeted Voronezh, with fires reported in Rostov and Yeysk.
