Dodgers' Ohtani Injures Left Shoulder Stealing Base; MRI Scheduled, Roberts Optimistic
Oct 27, 2024, 03:42 AM
Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani suffered a subluxation (partial dislocation) of his left shoulder while attempting to steal a base during his first career World Series. Manager Dave Roberts said Ohtani will undergo further testing, including an MRI, tonight or tomorrow morning to assess the extent of the injury. Roberts expressed optimism, noting that initial postgame evaluations showed Ohtani's strength was "great" and his range of motion was good. "We're encouraged," Roberts said, adding that he expects Ohtani to remain in the lineup. The team expects to have more information following the tests.
