The historical epic 'Shogun' made history at the 76th Emmy Awards by becoming the first non-English-language series to win the Emmy for Best Drama Series. The show also won a record-breaking 18 Emmys in total, surpassing the previous record held by HBO's 'John Adams' with 13 wins. Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai, the lead actors in 'Shogun,' became the first Japanese actors to win Emmys for Best Actor and Best Actress in a Drama Series, respectively.
