VisitGoogle Cloud Unveils GA BigQuery Vector Search with ScaNN Vector Index
Oct 2, 2024, 04:11 PM
Google Cloud has announced the general availability (GA) of BigQuery vector search, marking a significant development in AI-powered analytics. This new feature is designed to enhance database services for generative AI workloads. Additionally, Google Cloud is integrating technology from its Search and YouTube platforms into enterprise generative AI applications. The ScaNN vector index in AlloyDB promises up to four times faster vector queries and up to eight-fold faster index build times. This move aims to provide scalable and resilient solutions for AI-based applications. The system supports pgvector-compatible semantics and built-in functions to run similarity searches.
