San Onofre State Beach Secures 25-Year Lease Extension
Aug 30, 2024, 07:14 PM
The state and federal governments have signed a 25-year lease extension to keep San Onofre State Beach open as a state park. This agreement ensures that the beach, along with its hiking and biking trails and campgrounds, will remain accessible to the public. The lease extension was secured through the collaborative efforts of California State Parks, Camp Pendleton, and advocacy groups including the San Onofre Parks Foundation and the Surfrider Foundation. Representative Mike Levin highlighted the significance of this deal for continued public enjoyment.
