Former Judge Sam Hou Fai Elected Macau's Sixth-Term Chief Executive with 394 Votes

Sam Hou Fai, Macau's former top judge, was elected as the sixth-term Chief Executive designate of China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Sunday morning, pending appointment by the Central People's Government. He secured 394 votes in a largely ceremonial, one-man election conducted by the Election Committee, representing 0.0666% of Macau’s voting-age population. Sam Hou Fai is set to become the city's first chief executive born in mainland China. The Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council congratulated him on his election.
