VisitSakana AI Launches Evo-Ukiyoe and Evo-Nishikie Models to Preserve Ukiyo-e Art
Jul 22, 2024, 01:43 AM
Sakana AI, a Japanese AI startup, has announced the release of two new models, Evo-Ukiyoe and Evo-Nishikie, designed to generate and colorize Ukiyo-e style images. These models were developed in collaboration with Ritsumeikan University Art Research Center, ROIS-DS Center for Open Data in the Humanities, and the National Institute of Japanese Literature. The initiative aims to preserve the traditional Japanese art form of Ukiyo-e, which was at risk of fading away. By utilizing high-quality, high-resolution national datasets, Sakana AI aims to accurately capture the essence of Ukiyo-e art.
