Ukraine Says Russia Fired ICBM from Astrakhan at Dnipro in First Combat Use
Nov 21, 2024, 09:44 AM
Ukraine's Air Force reported that Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) at the city of Dnipro on Thursday morning, in what it said could be the first known use of such a weapon in combat history. The missile, possibly an RS-26 Rubezh equipped with multiple warheads, was reportedly fired from Russia's Astrakhan region and carried conventional warheads. The attack also included Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles, according to the Ukrainian Air Force, representing a significant escalation in the conflict. If confirmed, this would be the first time an ICBM has been used during the war.
