Jan 13, 2025, 05:35 PM
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian are set to sign a 'Comprehensive Strategic Partnership' treaty on January 17 during Pezeshkian's official visit to Russia. The agreement, which has been in the works for several years, consists of 47 articles and will cover a wide range of areas including trade and investment, transport and logistics, and the humanitarian sphere. It will also address regional and international issues. The treaty is expected to govern the relationship between Russia and Iran for the next 20 years, pending ratification by the Iranian Parliament. Both countries, currently under heavy Western sanctions, aim to strengthen their bilateral ties through this agreement.
