Russia Marks 20 Years Since Beslan School Siege, 334 Killed Including 186 Children

Russia commemorated the 20th anniversary of the Beslan school terror attack, a tragedy that claimed the lives of 334 people, including 186 children. The attack began on September 1, 2004, when 32 terrorists took 1,128 hostages at School No. 1 in Beslan, North Ossetia. The siege lasted for two and a half days, ending in explosions and gunfire. The event remains the deadliest terror attack in Russian history. Russian President Vladimir Putin and other officials marked the anniversary, while survivors and families of the victims gathered to mourn and remember those lost. The school's ruins now serve as a memorial to the victims.
