Ronin Network Partners with Polygon to Launch zkEVM Layer 2 for Enhanced Gaming Scalability, 1.5M DAUs
Jun 18, 2024, 02:31 PM
Ronin Network has announced the introduction of its own zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM) in partnership with Polygon. This move will allow developers to leverage Polygon's Chain Development Kit (CDK) to create their own Layer 2 (L2) chains on Ronin, enabling faster and more scalable gaming experiences. The integration aims to enhance Ronin's capability to support a virtually unlimited gaming community, with the potential to handle hundreds of millions of transactions per day. Developers will be able to permissionlessly deploy their games, and Ronin can decide to tap into the AggLayer, joining a unified environment for the largest gaming community in web3. Ronin, which already boasts 1.5 million daily active users and over 18 million Ronin Wallet downloads, is set to become a key player in the blockchain gaming industry. The partnership with Polygon is expected to provide Ronin with an unprecedented advantage over competitors, positioning it as the largest gaming blockchain in the world. This development is backed by Sky-Mavis, the team behind the popular game Axie Infinity.
