Aug 6, 2024, 06:53 PM
California has achieved a significant milestone in zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) sales, recording one of its best quarters ever. In the last quarter, 118,181 ZEVs were sold, accounting for 25.7% of all new vehicle sales in the state. This figure represents 26% of all new vehicles purchased in California. Notably, 34% of all ZEVs sold in the United States are bought in California. Governor Gavin Newsom praised Rivian's contributions, noting a shift in competition within the sector, as Tesla is no longer the exclusive manufacturer, with Ford also seeing increased sales.
